Shane Spencer, former MLB player and MiLB coach will be joining the Saugerties Stallions for the 2021 season. Spencer will serve as the Stallions hitting coach and brings extensive knowledge and experience of the game to Saugerties. In an interview with The Voice of the Stallions, Jon Gross, Spencer said “if you can tell them some of your faults, and what not to do and take that so they don’t make the same mistakes, that will be a bonus”.

Making his MLB debut in 1998 with the New York Yankees, Spencer made a quick impact belting 10 homeruns in September including 3 grand slams in just 67 at bats which served as the MLB record for 10 years. During his MLB tenure he spent time with the Yankees, Indians, Rangers and Mets including 3 World Series Championships with the Yankees.
