Game Recap: Walk-Off Sac-Fly Gives Stallions 5-4 Win Over Lumberjacks

Summary: Another close game ends in a win for the Saugerties Stallions, defeating the Boonville Lumberjacks 5-4 on Monday. The PGCBL playoffs inch closer, and the Stallions currently sit in second in the East division behind the Amsterdam Mohawks. The Stallions were tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth and put three runners aboard for bases loaded when Dylan Passo stepped to the plate and launched a ball into the outfield. A sac-fly, Passo brought a runner in and took Monday’s win over the Lumberjacks.


Key Players

Dylan Passo (Stallions): Passo was 0-4 at the plate entering the ninth inning and was looking for his first success at the plate against the Lumberjacks. In the ninth inning with the game on the line and bases loaded, Passo makes contact and brings home a runner on third to secure the win.

Pitching Notes

Sean Dertinger (Stallions): Dertinger had a good start on the mound, pitching five innings, allowing six hits, two earned runs and recording five strikeouts. Dertinger is now 2-0 in two appearances on the mound this season.


Game Conclusion:

The Stallions continue to come out on top in close games and are preparing for the playoffs with six regular-season games remaining. The Stallions hold second in the division and are looking to hold on to the opportunity for home-field advantage in the playoffs.
