Summary: The Stallions extend their win streak to three games after traveling to Oneonta on Saturday, defeating the Outlaws 8-3. After a nail-biting matchup against Utica on the fourth of July, the Stallions had an easier go of things against the Outlaws. Once again the Stallions offense caught fire late in the game, leading 3-2 through the first five innings. Saugerties would go on to score five runs trough the remaining four innings to seal another victory.
Key Players
Justin Ford (Stallions): Ford was once again a standout in Saturday’s performance finishing the game 2-5 with two RBI and a run. Though the fourth of July is over, the fireworks continue to fly for Ford at the plate.
Pitching Notes
Anthony Umhey (Stallions): Umhey was given his first start on the mound for the Stallions this season on Saturday, allowing seven hits, but only two earned runs. Though he didn’t find the zone for a strikeout against the Outlaws, he still kept the Oneonta offense from finding its footing.
Game Conclusion:
The Stallions are rolling, winning three in a row and getting ready for another matchup on Sunday. Justin Ford finds himself on a hot streak as the Stallions offense continues to produce at the plate. They have another matchup against Mohawk Valley on Sunday where they hope to keep the wins going.
