Game Recap: Stallions Take 2nd Loss to the Lumberjacks

Summary: The Stallions scored early in Thursday’s game against the Boonville Lumberjacks, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st. That would be the last time Saugerties led tonight, giving up three runs in the first two innings, four in the 4th and one run in the 8th to lose the game 8-4. Outfielder Travis Hobbensiefken stood out for the Stallions, recording three RBI’s and a home run. Hobbensiefken now has home runs in back-to-back games after a home run against Glens Falls on Wednesday. This is the Stallions second loss this season. 

 

Key Players

Travis Hobbensiefken (Stallions): Outfielder Travis Hobbensiefken recorded his second home run of the season for the Stallions. He is currently the only Stallion to hit a home run so far this season.


Justin Ford (Stallions): Ford was once again impressive at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and a walk.

 

Pitching Notes

Derek Constance (Stallions): Constance had another start on the mound on Thursday, finishing the game with three innings pitched, three earned runs, three walks and a strikeout. 

 

Gregory Bruno (Stallions): Bruno had the most impressive performance on the mound last night, pitching 2.2 innings, recording zero earned runs and three strikeouts. 

 

Team note: This is the most runs the Stallions have given up to an opponent so far this season. 


Game Conclusion:

The Stallions take their second loss of the season to the Boonville LumberJacks and their second loss on the road. With three of their next four games taking place at home, the next week should be an opportunity to take away more wins on the season.
