Summary: The Stallions took on the Glens Falls Dragons in a double header today, splitting the two game outing, losing the first game and winning the second. In the first game, the Stallions led 2-1 until a four run surge for the Dragons in the bottom of the sixth gave Glens Falls a 5-2 victory. The second game of the day saw a much better performance on the offensive end for Saugerties, scoring seven runs and walking away with a 7-4 win. The Dragons jumped within two runs in game two in the sixth, but the Stallions held onto their lead and claimed a single win on the day.
Key Players:
Dylan Passo (Stallions): Passo had an impressive performance in game two, finishing 2-4 with an RBI and a run. He is proving himself to be a reliable at bat since recently joining the team and replacing Gabe Cavazzoni.
Justin Ford (Stallions): Another example of consistency in this Stallions offense, Ford went 1-3 in game two with two RBI and two runs. Ford is now batting .356 on the season.
Pitching Notes
Team:
Steven Svenson (Stallions): Svenson was awarded the win in game two, pitching five innings, allowing two hits, one earned run and recording three strikeouts. This is Svenson’s second win of the season.
Team note: The Stallions took their fifth win in the past six games in their first double header this season.
Game Conclusion:
Though game one saw little offense out of the Stallions, game two provided a much better glimpse into how Saugerties has been playing in their latest stretch of games. Now having won five of their past six, the Stallions seemed to have gained momentum in the past week, playing to their full potential both on the mound and at the plate.
