Summary: The Stallions continue to churn out wins at home, defeating the Oneonta Outlaws 8-1 on Sunday. The Outlaws continue to sit at the bottom of the East, now with a 4-26 record, exactly twenty games back of the first-place Amsterdam Mohawks. The Stallions improve to 20-12 on the season, becoming the second team to reach the twenty-win mark, and sit at second in the East. With the win over the Outlaws, the Stallions have won eight of their last ten with no signs of slowing down.
Key Players
Ryan King (Stallions): King had a good night, going 2-3, with two runs and three RBI. His hitting was the engine behind the Stallions’ offense, pushing them to Sunday’s win.
Pitching Notes
Sean Dertinger (Stallions): Dertinger took the win on Sunday after four innings on the mound for the Stallions. Dertinger finished his night allowing three hits, zero runs, two walks and three strikeouts in his second start of the season.
Game Conclusion:
The Outlaws were an easy win for the Stallions to take home, beginning a long week. Saugerties’ games Monday against Glens Falls were canceled, but they have a hectic schedule ahead with only two off days on Thursday and Saturday. Stallions get set for a Tuesday matchup against the division-leading Amsterdam Mohawks, whom Saugerties trails by five games.
