Location: Amsterdam

Date: July 1, 2025

Time: 6:00 p.m.

Summary: The Stallions dropped Tuesday’s game to the Amsterdam Mohawks 11-8, bringing the team’s record to 12-10 on the season. The Stallions led 3-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, and then five runs from the Mohawks put Amsterdam ahead 7-3. Travis Hobbensiefken then responded with a home run in the top of the eighth to trail Amsterdam by a single run, but the Amsterdam offense continued to score. Putting up four more runs in the eighth, the Mohawks gave themselves enough cushion to secure the victory.

Key Players:

Travis Hobbensiefken (Stallions): Hobbensiefken was lights out for the Stallions on Tuesday, going 2-5, hitting two home runs and recording four RBI, and two runs. Having struggled in previous games over the past few weeks, Hobbensiefken performed in vintage form as fans saw a return in performance resembling the beginning of the season.

Pitching Notes

Virgil Heath (Stallions): Heath had the longest and most impressive performance on the mound tonight. He allowed only three hits, one earned run, with two strikeouts in four innings pitched.

Game Conclusion:

The Stallions seemed in control of a game that was low scoring for the majority of play. It wasn’t until late in the game that the Mohawks’ offense found a spark and jumped ahead. The Stallions nearly answered, but could not close the lead in time. They now move to 12-10 on the season and sit tied for third in the division.
