Summary: Late game theatrics ended in a Saugerties Stallions victory last night over the Amsterdam Mohawks, 10-9. The Mohawks have been the most dominant league in the division thus far this season, but suffered its second loss yesterday to Saugerties. Centerfielder Lewis Rodriguez was lights out at the plate going 6-6 with 5 runs scored. Key Players

Lewis Rodriguez (Stallions): Rodriguez has been a reliable bat for the Stallions all season and last night he performed incredibly. Rodriguez went 6-6, recorded 5 runs and a double. He now improved to a .400 batting average on the season.

Nick Croce (Stallions): Croce was impressive going 3-5 with a pair of RBI’s. He has caught fire in the past few games, recently coming off of a game where Croce hit his first home run of the season.

Pitching Notes

Charles Batista (Stallions): Batista was awarded the win in last night’s victory, pitching 1.2 innings, allowing one hit and three strikeouts.

Team note: This is the Stallions first win against the Mohawks since July 8th, last season.

Game Conclusion:

The Stallions needed a big win and they got one in one of the craziest of circumstances. Defeating the best team in the division, the Stallions proved they’re capable of defeating any opponent they come across. The team’s biggest players continue to shine and the Stallions should be riding high over last night’s victory.
