Summary: Stallions won on Wednesday to take the East Division semifinal game against the Utica Blue Sox, 6-4. The Stallions took an early 6-0 lead through the first three innings, but an explosive four-run fifth put the Blue Sox back in Wednesday’s contest. Due to impressive pitching, the Stallions shut out Utica for the remainder of the game and took another win over the Blue Sox this season.
Key Players
Logan Sanchez (Stallions): Sanchez went 3-4 in Wednesday’s contest against Utica, including a leadoff home run in the second inning. Sanchez could have possibly gone 4-4, but was called out due to a batter’s interference call when the catcher tried making a throw to second.
Pitching Notes
Sean Dertinger (Stallions): Dertinger was awarded the win after pitching 4.2 innings, allowing three hits and three runs and recording three strikeouts. This was Dertinger’s second win of the season.
Mason Weaver (Stallions): Weaver came in for yet another save this season, entering the game in the eighth and closing the game out in the ninth. He went two total innings and recorded three strikeouts along with the save.
Game Conclusion:
The Stallions will now fight for the East Division title against the Mohawks when they travel to take on the team on Friday. With the season on the line, the Stallions will look to continue their success this season.
