Game Recap: Saugerties Drops Third Straight to Glens Falls

Location: Cantine Field

Date: June 11, 2025

Time: 7:05 p.m.

Summary: The Saugerties Stallions drop their third straight in a 2-1 loss to the Glens Falls Dragons giving the team a 3-4 record on the season. Despite scoring early, the Saugerties offense went quiet, recording one run in the 1st and then shutout the rest of the game. The Dragons take their first win over Saugerties this season, losing their previous two matchups. The Stallions now find themselves on a three game losing streak, previously falling to the Amsterdam Mohawks, 15-9, and the Boonville Lumberjacks, 8-4.

Key Players

Justin Ford (Stallions): Ford went 1-3 at the plate and recorded the only RBI of the night for the Stallions. Ford now has 6 RBI on the season.

Pitching Notes

Charles Batista (Stallions): In 2 innings pitched, Batista was productive, recording 4 strikeouts, allowing one hit and no runs. Batista demonstrated an impressive fastball on the mound and will be a weapon for the Stallions as the season progresses.

Jake Spindler (Stallions): Coming in for relief, Spindler gave the Stallions a fighting chance, retiring three batters, striking out two of them. Though the offense couldn’t match the Dragons on the score board, Spindler also had a good showing with some power in his fastball.

Team note: This is the first time the Stallions have lost three consecutive games since 2023.

Game Conclusion:

The Stallions take their third consecutive loss and go to 3-4 on the year. Despite recent struggles, this is a talented Saugerties team still waiting for a complete roster. With more players joining the team in the coming weeks and greater depth, this Stallions team will be a contender later in the season.
