Stallions Streak Extends to Five As They Take Down Geneva

Saugerties, NY- On Saturday, July 7 the Saugerties Stallions hosted the Geneva Red Wings.  Red Wings starting pitcher Jameson Moran (RIT) faced off against Stallions starter Austin Dreher (Daytona State), in a matchup which the Stallions would hold onto win 6-4.

Saugerties struck first in the bottom of the third.  Jordan Kozicky (Minnesota) reached on a fielder’s choice, and went on to steal second later in the inning.  Cameron Comer (Virginia) hit an RBI-double, scoring Kozicky giving the Stallions a 1-0 lead.

The Red Wings battled back and took the lead in the fifth inning.  Brian Knapp (Pomona) hit an infield single, scoring Justin Barr (Central Alabama C.C.).  Zac Miller (Delaware) would later go on to hit a two-run triple, scoring Knapp and Jesse Hall (LB Wallace College).  Jack Harris (San Francisco State) would also add an RBI-single, scoring Miller to give Geneva a 4-1 lead.

Saugerties battled back in the bottom of the half to score one after a Comer sac fly scored Darius Foster (Oregon State), to trail 4-2.

The Stallions bats would again come to the aid of their pitching in the sixth inning.  Noah Searcy (Georgia Southern) started the inning by getting hit by a pitch and later moved to second on a wild pitch.  Austin Powell (Arkansas State) hit an RBI-double to score Searcy.  Then immediately after, Foster would add an RBI-double of his own to score Powell.  Comer added to his already big night by hitting two-RBI double, to give Saugerties a 6-4 lead which they would hold onto.

Stallions pitcher Austin Breher earned the win, Red Wings pitcher Mark Bobko (Bloomsberg) took the loss, and Stallions pitcher Logan Teske (Angelo State) picked up the save.

The Red Wings play again on Monday, July 9 at home against the Jamestown Jamers and the Stallions play again on July 9 at home against Adirondack Trail Blazers.
