Date: July 23, 2025

Summary: The Stallions lost for the first time since July 10 last night, 8-4 to the division-leading Amsterdam Mohawks. With the win, the Mohawks secure the top seed in the PGCBL playoffs and home-field advantage for game one and, assuming they win their first, two of the playoffs. With the loss, the Stallions are looking forward, as they seek to secure the No. 2 seed and home-field advantage in game one of the playoffs.
Key Players
Casey Cumiskey (Stallions): Cumiskey had an outstanding night at the plate, going 4-5 and recording a run. Despite the loss, Cumiskey was impressive for the Stallions.
Pitching Notes
Dan Galef (Stallions): The Mohawks had five consecutive innings with a run, but Dan Galef entered the game in the fifth and shut out the Mohawks through the ninth. Though the Stallions couldn’t close the gap, Galef’s performance should not be overlooked. He finished with 4.1 innings on the mound, allowing two hits, no runs and recording four strikeouts.
Game Conclusion:
The Stallions have only lost to the Mohawks in July, with that trend continuing in last night’s matchup. Despite the loss, the Stallions continue to be one of the best teams in the division and should find a bounce-back victory against Oneonta on Thursday.
Next Game:
Thursday, July 24: Away vs Oneonta
First pitch: 7:00 p.m.
