Game Recap: Stallions Drop Both Games to Amsterdam in Double Header

Location: Amsterdam

Date: July 10, 2025

Summary: The Stallions’ win streak comes to an end with a pair of losses to the Amsterdam Mohawks on Thursday. After winning six straight, the Stallions headed to Amsterdam yesterday for a doubleheader against the Mohawks. Despite recent success, including a win over the Mohawks at home on Wednesday, the Stallions dropped both games. Saugerties fell in the first game 8-7 and in the second 8-4. They now look to their matchup on Saturday against the Lumberjacks to get back in the win column.

Key Players

Justin Ford (Stallions): Ford recorded two hits between game one and two of the double header, and yielded six RBI. He continues to impress, raking in RBI for the Stallions this season.

Pitching Notes

Charles Batista (Stallions): Batista perhaps had the most impressive outing on the mound between the two games, but also one of the shortest. Pitching one inning in game two, Batista recorded a strikeout after facing four batters and allowing no hits and no runs.

Team Note: Walks were an issue in game two for the Stallions, giving the Mohawks 12 free bases, aiding Amsterdam in its 8-4 loss.

Game Conclusion:

A tough pair of losses for a Stallions team that entered the doubleheader winning six straight. Despite the day’s conclusion, the Stallions should not let this performance deter them and the success they have found in this last stretch of games. The team now needs to move forward and look to its next matchup.

Next Game:

Saturday, July 12: Away vs Boonville Lumberjacks

First pitch: 6:45 p.m.
