The Saugerties Stallions secured a victory in the first game of their doubleheader against the Albany Baseball Club, winning 8-4. The Stallions’ offense sparked in the second inning, and strong pitching throughout the game helped maintain their lead despite a late surge from Albany.

Early Scoring: The Stallions initiated scoring in the bottom of the second inning with a significant play. Ryan Recio smashed a home run that brought in Eddie Yamin and Brandon Fish, pushing the Stallions ahead early in the game.

Continued Dominance: In the fourth inning, the Stallions extended their lead with Justin Ford delivering a crucial double that drove in two more runs, further widening the gap.

Albany’s Effort: Albany tried to claw back into the game in the fifth inning when Brody Kenneston hit a home run, but the Stallions’ defense held strong, limiting Albany’s scoring opportunities.

Securing the Win: Despite Albany’s attempt to close the gap in the sixth, scoring three runs due to some defensive mishaps from the Stallions, Saugerties answered back with Eddie Yamin hitting a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to seal the game.

The Saugerties Stallions rallied from an early one-run deficit to defeat the Albany Baseball Club 3-1 in the second game of their doubleheader, improving their season record to 25-8-2 and moving within 2.5 games of first place. The game concluded in the fifth inning due to bad weather conditions but not before the Stallions demonstrated solid pitching and timely hitting.


Game Highlights

Early Albany Lead: Albany opened the scoring in the first inning when Ryan Ferreri delivered an RBI single, putting the pressure on the Stallions early in the game.

Stallions’ Strategic Play: The Stallions took the lead in the third inning, capitalizing on a costly error by Albany’s catcher during a double steal, allowing Tyler Bak to score. Mario Trivella followed up with an RBI single, driving in Andrew Amato, to put the Stallions ahead.

Stellar Pitching
: Derek Constance of the Stallions contributed significantly with back-to-back 1-2-3 innings, effectively shutting down Albany’s lineup and maintaining the lead for Saugerties.

Additional Run:
