Stallions Gear Up for Second PGCBL Playoff Appearance

For the second time in the franchise’s five-year history, the Saugerties Stallions will partake in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League playoffs. The organization reached the postseason in 2017 but lost in the first round.

The team’s double-header sweep over the Amsterdam Mohawks on July 26 clinched their spot as one of the top four teams in the East Division.

The Stallions’ playoff run will begin on Thursday, with a one-game opening round. The opponent and location of the game is to be determined. The divisional and championship rounds of the playoffs are best two-out-of-three.

The top four clubs in both the East Division and the West Division qualify for the eight-team postseason.

With two regular season games remaining, this season’s Stallions have set a multitude of franchise records, including but not limited to:

• Most wins (26 and counting)

• First winning season

• Most runs scored in a single game (18 vs. Glens Falls on 7/28)

• Longest winning streak (7 games)

• Largest single-game home attendance (4,823 vs. Oneonta on 6/28)

• Most total runs in a Season

The Stallions play today at Amsterdam at 6:45 p.m., followed by the regular season finale versus Albany at 7:05 p.m. at Cantine Field.
